About BridgePoint

Specialist advice, grounded in the realities of shared control.

BridgePoint was created for the situations in which an important joint venture or strategic partnership is not delivering as intended — and conventional answers do not reach the real problem.

Why BridgePoint exists

Joint ventures require a different kind of advice.

Shared ownership changes how value is created — and how problems must be solved.
A joint venture is not a conventional subsidiary. No single shareholder has complete freedom to act. Important decisions depend on parties with different priorities, governance rights, risk appetites and expectations of value.

When those differences are not managed well, the visible problem may be weak performance, slow decisions or recurring tension. The underlying cause often sits at the points where shareholder intent, Board oversight, management accountability and partner relationships meet.

BridgePoint exists to help owners and leaders understand those connections, address the real causes and restore the conditions needed for the venture to perform.

Our point of view

Governance should help a venture perform.

Effective governance is not an end in itself. It is how shared purpose is converted into sound decisions, clear accountability, constructive challenge and timely intervention.
01

Purpose before process

Governance cannot compensate for shareholders who are unclear or misaligned about what the venture is expected to deliver. Clarity of purpose and intended value must come first.
02

The whole system matters

Shareholders, the Board and management operate as one connected system. Weakness at any interface affects decisions, relationships, risk and ultimately performance.
03

Influence must be intentional

In shared-control and non-operated ventures, formal rights alone are not enough. Owners need a clear posture, capable representatives and disciplined ways to influence outcomes.

Different by design

A focused specialist model for difficult JV problems.

BridgePoint is intentionally narrow in what it seeks to be known for. That focus gives clients direct access to relevant experience, practical judgement and methods built around the realities of joint ventures and partnerships.

Senior attention throughout

Clients work directly with experienced practitioners responsible for the diagnosis, judgement and recommendations — not through a large delivery pyramid.

The complete JV system

We look beyond an isolated governance process or performance symptom to understand how purpose, rights, behaviours, relationships and accountabilities interact.

Particular depth in shared control

Our perspective is especially relevant where an owner must protect value and influence outcomes without the authority available in a wholly controlled business.

Focused intervention, not a service catalogue

We bring in complementary expertise only where the problem requires it. Scope is shaped around the client outcome, not around keeping a broad consulting bench occupied.

Founded by Tayeb Rostami

Founder & Managing Principal

Tayeb founded BridgePoint following a 26-year international career with bp spanning joint ventures, shareholder representation, Board roles, commercial leadership and strategic partnerships.

His experience includes serving as a director on five JV Boards, leading a portfolio of ten aviation ventures and supporting governance capability across bp’s global portfolio of more than 300 non-operated JVs.

Having worked from owner, Board, Asset Manager, portfolio and commercial perspectives, Tayeb understands that a difficult JV problem rarely belongs to one party or one process. That experience shapes BridgePoint’s approach: look at the complete system, establish the evidence and focus action where it can make the greatest difference.

Why that experience matters

Practical perspective translated into better client decisions.

Experience is only valuable when it helps the client see the problem more clearly and act with greater confidence.
Owner and shareholder perspective
Helps distinguish what an owner can control, where it must influence and how rights can be converted into purposeful action.
Board and management perspective
Helps clarify where oversight should end and management should begin — reducing ambiguity and decisions that repeatedly circulate.
Portfolio perspective
Helps leaders compare ventures consistently, see when intervention is most needed and intervene before problems become entrenched.
Commercial and partnership perspective
Keeps governance connected to the venture’s strategic purpose, economic value and the realities of maintaining a productive partner relationship.
